Project Manager

Deliver exceptional AI project outcomes for ambitious clients

UK (Brighton, Hybrid)
Full-Time, Permanent

About Attercop

Attercop is a specialist AI consultancy. We partner with dynamic mid-size technology and technology-enabled companies to develop and implement transformative AI strategies, and then we build them.

Our work spans the full lifecycle: from early-stage strategy and scoping through to production-grade AI systems that deliver real business value. We operate in domains like agentic AI, knowledge engineering, and full-stack AI development, working across sectors including private equity, life sciences, and financial services. The problems are complex, the clients are ambitious, and the work is genuinely varied.

We're a growing team of AI consultants, data scientists, and strategists. Now we need a brilliant Project Manager to help us deliver exceptional outcomes for our clients.

The Role

You don't need to be an AI expert. We have brilliant people who understand the technology deeply. What we need is someone who can manage complex delivery in a technical environment, keep things moving when they threaten to stall, and ensure our technical excellence translates into client success.

This is a hands-on project management role with real variety. You'll run projects from first scoping conversation through to production, working directly with clients to solve their most challenging problems. One week you might be coordinating the development of a custom AI framework for a fintech client; the next you're facilitating a strategy engagement for a PE-backed portfolio company. Different sectors, different organisational contexts, different technical challenges. No two projects are quite the same.

Solid project management fundamentals will be essential: planning, coordination, stakeholder engagement, risk management. But you'll also need to be comfortable with the reality that not everything is documented, not every process exists yet, and sometimes you'll need to work out the right approach as you go. You'll coordinate technical teams, manage senior stakeholders, navigate ambiguity, and bring structure where there isn't any.

You'll need to be commercially minded too. Your work needs to demonstrate clear value to clients, and you should understand what makes projects profitable and sustainable.

If you find satisfaction in bringing order to complexity, if you like the variety of working across different projects and clients, and if you're energised rather than exhausted by the challenge of making difficult things happen, you'll thrive here.

This is a remote-first role with flexibility in where you work, though you'll visit our Brighton office periodically and may occasionally travel to client sites.

What Really Matters to Us

We're looking for someone who can operate effectively in a dynamic, growing organisation. You need to be excellent at the fundamentals of project management: planning, coordination, stakeholder engagement, risk management. But you also need to be comfortable with the reality that not everything is documented, not every process exists yet, and sometimes you'll need to work out the right approach as you go.

You'll need to be commercially minded. Your work needs to demonstrate clear value to clients, and you should understand what makes projects profitable and sustainable. You don't need to be an AI expert. We have brilliant people who understand the technology deeply. What we need is someone who can manage complex delivery in a technical environment, who can keep things moving when they threaten to stall, and who can ensure our technical excellence translates into client success.

Most importantly, we need someone who enjoys this kind of work. If you find satisfaction in bringing order to complexity, if you like the variety of working across different projects and clients, if you're energised rather than exhausted by the challenge of making difficult things happen, then you'll thrive here.

What You'll Be Doing

Delivering client projects

You'll own and run multiple client engagements, acting as the primary project manager. This means planning, execution, stakeholder management, risk and issue management, and ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to an exceptional standard. Project management time will be expected to demonstrate a clear return on investment.

Coordinating technical delivery

You'll work closely with our technical specialists (data scientists, AI engineers, and consultants) to ensure work is properly planned, resourced, and delivered. You'll translate between technical and business stakeholders, making sure everyone understands what's being built and why it matters.

Managing client relationships

You'll be a trusted point of contact for senior stakeholders, understanding their business challenges, managing expectations, and building the kind of relationships that turn one-off projects into long-term partnerships.

Creating structure from complexity

Many of our projects start with ambiguous requirements and evolving scope. You'll work with the lead consultant to bring clarity, create workable plans, and help clients understand what's possible and what's realistic.

Contributing to how we work

As someone working at the coalface of delivery, you'll have valuable insights into what works and what doesn't. You'll feed back into how we scope projects, what frameworks we use, and how we can deliver more effectively as we scale.

Supporting proposals and scoping

You'll help shape new work, contributing your project management expertise to ensure we're scoping projects sensibly and setting ourselves up for success from the start.

The Growth Opportunity

You're joining Attercop at the point where we're transitioning from startup to scale-up. We're running a growing portfolio of AI projects that will require additional operational infrastructure to support sustainable growth, and there's a real opportunity for you to play a central role in designing and shaping it.

The systems, templates, and frameworks we develop together will form the foundation of our delivery function. As the company grows and additional project managers join, you'll be the person who understands how everything works and why it works that way. That knowledge and experience create genuine opportunities for growth into programme management, portfolio oversight, or delivery leadership roles.

The trajectory depends on how we grow and what you're interested in pursuing. But the foundation is there: join early, deliver brilliantly, help build the systems that enable scale, and benefit from the growth that follows.

What We're Looking For

Essential

  • Proven experience delivering complex projects as a hands-on project manager, with a strong track record across the full project lifecycle (time, cost, and quality)
  • Experience managing multiple concurrent projects and juggling competing priorities
  • Strong stakeholder management capabilities, including working with senior executives
  • Ability to create structure and clarity in ambiguous situations
  • Experience working on technical projects, even if you're not deeply technical yourself
  • Detailed knowledge of project management frameworks, including toolkits and templates, with proven experience deploying them into a project or organisation
  • Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Commercial awareness and an understanding of what makes projects successful
  • A proactive, resourceful approach: someone who enjoys taking the initiative
  • A collaborative spirit and the ability to work effectively with diverse teams

Advantageous

  • Experience working in consultancy or professional services environments
  • Familiarity with AI, machine learning, or data science projects
  • Experience in agile delivery methodologies
  • Background in technology-led transformation projects
  • A genuine curiosity about how AI is changing businesses and society

What We Offer

Flexibility and autonomy

This is a remote-first role with the trust and space to manage your own time and approach your work in the way that suits you best.

Breadth and variety

You'll work across different sectors, different technical challenges, and different types of clients. Every project brings something new to learn.

Real impact

You'll be working on projects that genuinely matter, helping organisations navigate one of the most significant technological shifts of our generation.

Growth trajectory

You're joining at a stage where your contribution will shape how we operate. As we scale, the opportunities for progression are real and substantial.

Collaborative culture

We're a team that values openness, learning, and supporting one another. We share knowledge freely and celebrate success together.

Interesting problems

Our clients are grappling with genuinely challenging questions about how to use AI effectively. You'll be at the centre of helping them find answers.

Compensation

We're a growing startup, which means we're building something together rather than offering the security of an established consultancy. We offer a fair salary that reflects both the value you'll bring and the reality of our stage, with the opportunity to grow as we do.
